Awaken Houston is a city-wide movement of prayer, fasting, and gospel proclamation, uniting the Church across Greater Houston to seek personal renewal, revival within our churches, and a spiritual awakening in our city. In 2026, we celebrate ten years of unified, collaborative prayer and fasting — a decade of believers coming together across denominations and communities to seek God for spiritual transformation in Houston.

This year’s theme, Walking with Jesus: Light Up the City, calls us to a simple yet powerful posture of daily faithfulness. This season isn’t about doing something impressive for God, but about walking closely with Him — step by step, street by street — trusting Him to transform lives, renew His Church, and bring spiritual awakening across Greater Houston.

As part of our unified prayer effort, we’ve set a bold, faith-filled goal: to collectively prayer walk 100,000 miles across Houston, saturating our neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, and communities in prayer.

It will take place February 18 - April 5, 2026.

Awaken Houston is a city-wide journey of prayer and fasting that you can participate in wherever you are — day by day, right in your own neighborhood. You can prayer walk the streets around your home or use the Holy Here app to find areas across Houston that haven’t yet been prayed over and go walk those locations.

In addition, the Awaken Houston site regularly updates the Prayer Gatherings and Walks section of their website so you can discover specific days, times, and places where believers are coming together to pray across the city.

Waypoint Church is joining participating churches and all followers of Jesus who are willing to join in prayer and fasting alongside others throughout Greater Houston. This movement is those who feel called to unite in seeking God’s renewal and revival during the Lenten season, from February 18 to April 5. Whether you’re new to prayer and fasting or have a seasoned practice, we invite you to join many in the Waypoint family as part of this city-wide journey.

Our theme of targeted prayer walking gives need for a resource to track our collective efforts across this great city. Holy Here is both a prayer walking app and a growing initiative originally launched by 24-7 Prayer USA. It’s now in the process of becoming its own organization, with a vision to help churches, ministries, and cities around the world pray intentionally over their communities. Awaken Houston is one of many groups that are beginning to use the app. 

This tool will assist Awaken Houston this year in seeing this season of unified prayer become a model that can be multiplied in cities across the globe — empowering believers everywhere to prayer walk and saturate their cities in prayer.​ Your willingness to use this tool will help us see fruit and build for future city efforts.
