Missionaries in Jordan
The P- Family
The country of Jordan is best described as a place of refuge amongst significant unrest in the surrounding countries of the Middle East. Home to around 11 million people, only about 3.5 million are actually Jordanian. The rest of the population is made up primarily of refugees from surrounding nations. Economically, it is a poor country and one of the least water-resourced countries in all the world. The capitol, Amman, has a population of around 5 million, roughly the same size as Houston, but is very dense with a land area similar to Katy ISD. You can hear the Muslim call to prayer no matter where you are. Jordan is a hard place to be reached…It typically takes 10-20 years of living, working among, and walking with the people before they really start to see progress. Workers and their families are often scrutinized by government officials and society at large, and run the risk of jail time or being kicked out of the country. For those who have chosen to walk in the Way in recent years, they often find themselves isolated from family and friends, lose educational and job opportunities, and are at high risk of persecution, violence, and possibly jail.
Our Gospel Partners, the P Family, have served here for nearly 5 years. They are primarily involved with local community centers, providing for physical, relational, and spiritual needs. This includes trauma support groups, weekly visits sharing the Message, youth programs, father’s programs, a preschool, tutoring, medical care, and supply of basic needs such as food, shelter, heating and cooling, etc. The primary goal is sharing the Message of Truth in everything they do.
Vecinos Ministries, Panama
Engage with Waypoint Missionaries, Barry & Yvette Henry, through Vecinos Ministries. Utilizing a Community Development approach to ministry that launched in the fall of 2021, the Henry’s aim to build a wholistic vehicle of ministry to provide basic needs, education, and restoration to help families break the poverty cycle and change the future for generations to come in Northern Panama.
We completed our first Waypoint trip to Panama in September 2023! Look for future opportunities ahead to join us in Panama to show and share the gospel with our friends.
You can find out more on engaging with this ministry below.
Heshima Ministries
Heshima Ministries, led by Misty Newsome at Waypoint Church, invites women in and teaches them marketable skills so that they and their families can survive in places of difficulty in Uganda. In the process the women are served, restored, empowered and strengthened.

Ireland Missions / Church Strengthening
Michael & Ashley, Liam, Lorelai, and Méav
Pray for the Emadi’s leading efforts in Ireland since November 2014 on the Cooley Peninsula in county Louth. Roughly 20,000 people live on the peninsula without a single evangelical church. They are working as church-planters, alongside of an established church in the town of Dundalk, where they live. Having been on the ground for years, God continues to open doors into the culture through their patient approach to relationships for the gospel.
Past Partnerships
leaders in MONGOLIA
Waypoint Church was blessed to see one of our own families called to the mission field. This family felt a unique call to the people of Mongolia in 2015/16. After God confirmed the call, they went through a miraculous birth of Kamryn, requiring them to stay for health reasons for an extended period. More time was needed for fundraising until we celebrated commissioning them for leading and teaching in an international university setting in the fall of 2021.
In the spring of 2024, God led this family back to the states, again caring for needs and a different season within their family. Yet, they returned with a passion to use their next season to expand the gospel to university students, often feeling a special connection to internationals. Kevin’s new role is on the teaching staff of LeTourneau University, allowing the reach of Waypoint Church into a closer Judea-proximity in their new opportunity.
MISSION ANTIGUA
What a joy to collaborate with missionaries Courtney & Arleen Street, who lead Caribbean Connect. Their ministry opened many doors in schools and churches on the island of Antigua for years. They continue leading mission efforts in this region and beyond as they’re able, while pastoring outside of Baltimore, Maryland.
The Streets have used the Wise Choices Campaign, which continues today, to lead youth out of places of bondage by investing in local island schools, teach choices of character from scripture to build a better life trajectory.
From pre-merger years at Waypoint, an investment was made into training teachers and administration. Specifically, this was achieved through an invitation by the National Ministry of Education in Antigua to assist the arena of Special Needs Inclusion.
The Special Needs Unit of Antigua invited our team, under the arms of the Street’s leadership, to help strengthen their goals for an inclusive classroom. In early 2020, we brought a 3-year commitment to completion through a National Pilot Program developed to train teachers in best practices in this challenging task.
Since the Spring of 2018, we were also able to take steps to expand the gospel locally within focused communities by collaborating with and strengthening local churches.
Courtney & Arleen have a proven faithful ministry with over 27 years serving with the International Mission Board, continuing to serve for a decade in self-supporting mission work, and now collaborating as pastors in the states to lead churches on mission!
